Richard is an example of the physical and mental benefits of yoga, recovering from many serious injuries. He first experienced yoga in 2003 and 2004 after a serious back injury. More injuries followed, which left him with constant sciatic and arthritic pain and permanent nerve damage.
After many years of physical therapy, re-diagnosis and more rehabilitation, he was able to resume yoga, experiencing massive increases in his physical and mental wellbeing that allowed him to return to work. In his 50s he was gradually able to return to the sports he missed: running, cycling and lifting weights.
Upon resuming yoga in 2014, Richard was fortunate to attend classes with Yogi Ashokananda, from whom he subsequently learned Himalayan Hatha Yoga. Richard recommends yoga to anyone recovering from injury or looking to sustain health and fitness. His classes are suitable for both beginners and students with various levels of experience.
Richard teaches Himalayan Hatha Yoga and is currently learning Prana Kriya Yoga.
